Toronto Mayor Rob Ford fended off attacks during the city’s first televised mayoral debate Wednesday night.
Ford seemed to hold his own against several attacks, as he seeks re-election this fall. He defended his fiscal record and repeated his campaign themes, alongside four candidates who want to replace him. But he shrugged off a question about his admitted use of crack cocaine.
The two-hour debate saw Ford and former NDP MP Olivia Chow repeatedly square off. Voters in Ontario will head to the polls on October 27th.
