Toddler missing after father found murdered

A frantic search for a missing two-year-old girl continues after her 27-year-old father was found murdered in his home in southwestern Alberta.

Police say Terry Blanchette was killed very early Monday morning, although family didn’t report his death until almost noon.

Blanchette’s two-year-old daughter Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette hasn’t been seen since. She was supposed to have been dropped off at her mother’s home in Edmonton on Sunday.  The parents had shared custody.

An Amber Alert  has been expanded into British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Montana.

Police are looking for a newer model white van with a large rear antenna and a flag flying from it that left Blanchette’s home in Crowsnest Pass at a high rate of speed.
