Tim Hortons Field occupancy permit remains unconfirmed

A report cites an unnamed Hamilton official saying it is “highly unlikely” that an occupancy permit will be issued on Thursday for the new Tim Hortons Field.

The city has said the decision on the permit could be made as late as Sunday.

CHCH News spoke with the city on Thursday morning. They said the stadium inspection has not been completed.

They are waiting on documentation from a builder that is necessary to complete the inspection which could now go into the weekend.

It’s hoped the stadium will be safe enough to host the Labour Day Classic against the Toronto Argonauts.

The city of Hamilton’s director of building is scheduled to make an update some time on Thursday morning.
