Ticketmaster warns customers of credit card data breach
Thousands of Ticketmaster customers may have had their information compromised during a recent data breach.
The ticket-sales giant has reported unauthorized access on one of its databases between April 2 and May 18.
On May 23, the California-based company determined that some personal information may have been affected by the incident. This included email addresses and credit card information.
“We determined that some of your personal information may have been affected by the incident,” the company wrote in an email to customers who may have been impacted.
“We have not seen any additional unauthorized activity in the cloud database since we began our investigation.”
It added that it is “fully committed to protecting your information, and deeply regret that this incident occurred.”
Ticketmaster is offering credit-monitoring services to customers in Canada and recommends people monitor their bank activity and emails for any suspicious activity.
