Three charged, firearm seized in St. Catharines shooting

Niagara police have charged three suspects and seized a firearm allegedly involved in a shooting by Bunting Road in St. Catharines.

Three suspects were arrested without incident in the cities of Niagara Falls and Thorold.

On July 16 at around 7:15 a.m., police responded to a plaza in the area of Bunting Road and Carlton Street for a shooting.

Responding officers located a 39-year-old man with a gunshot wound and serious injuries.

The man was transported to an out-of-region hospital with what was later determined to be non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Philip England, 46, of British Columbia is facing 11 charges including kidnapping, aggravated assault, attempted murder and robbery with a firearm.

Officers have charged Devon Le, 35, of B.C. with 10 offences including attempted murder, kidnapping, aggravated assault and robbery with a firearm.

Joseph Delgobbo, 54, of Niagara Falls is charged with accessory after the fact to commit an indictable offence.

All three suspects remain in custody and are scheduled to attend a bail hearing at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St Catharines.

Detectives have applied for a search warrant for a Niagara Falls residence and an involved vehicle has been seized for forensic examination.
