Arrest warrant issued for man wanted in Niagara break-ins

Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man linked to break-ins and the theft of stolen tools across the Niagara region.

Niagara police examined a suspicious, abandoned white cargo van in the area of Kingsway Road in Welland, Ont. in the evening of July 27 and found a large number of tools inside.

The investigation linked the van and suspect to a number of break-and-enters across the Niagara region.

Detectives recovered around $8,000 worth of stolen tools and merchandise, however the ownership of most of the items remains unknown.

Joshua Stephens, 41, of St. Catharines is wanted for a number of offences, including failing to comply with a probation order and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Anyone who spots the accused is asked to not approach him and to contact Niagara police at 905-688-4111.
