Teachers vow to keep fighting
Updated Is there a looming crisis in the form of a teachers’ strike? It depends on who you ask.
The government says yes, and is using that as a justification for the legislature being recalled next week to pass a controversial bill which would force contracts on teachers, and rein in wages and benefits. But the teachers insist this is a manufactured crisis and want the chance to negotiate. As we move closer to Monday’s vote there are now fears the province will end up paying a lot — one way or another.
