Hamilton police have named a suspect in the shooting of a seven-year-old boy last month.
Jayden Pitter is facing numerous charges including discharge of a firearm, aggravated assault, negligence causing bodily harm and unauthorised possession of a firearm.
On January 23, officers were called to a home on Gordon St. near Barton St. for reports of a shooting. A young boy was inside the home on the main floor when multiple gunshots were fired into the house from the back yard.
After the shooting, police say the suspect fled into a waiting vehicle. That car has now been identified but the firearm is still outstanding.
Police say the seven-year-old boy is now out of hospital but faces a long road to recovery.
Pitter is considered dangerous, if you see him, please do not approach and call 911 immediately.
