Sunshine list released, but sheds little light on Ornge salaries

Updated The latest list of Ontario public employees who earned over $100,000 last year is out.

Close to 80,000 names are on that list – 7,500 more than the year before.

Many civil servants make more than their political bosses. For example: health minister Deb Matthews made $166,000. The deputy minister took home over $427,000.

135 employees of Ornge made over $100,000, but some of the air ambulance service’s salaries are not included on the so-called sunshine list.

We did some digging today and found some mayors who make more than 100K – including the mayor of Hamilton – are not on the list. Sean Cowan went to find out why:
