Body found after Burlington standoff

(Updated) A woman’s body has been found in the Burlington apartment in which a man had barricaded himself.

Police were called to the Pearl St buidling at 10 this morning in response to a fight, and negotiated with the man who said he was armed. Four hours later, tactical officers forced their way into his unit, and zapped him with a stun gun.

Malcolm Copeland, 41, of Markham was taken to hospital.
