Students go viral after collecting cereal boxes for Fonthill food bank

Students at an elementary school in Fonthill, Ont., ran a cereal drive for the entirety of Lent to help a local food bank.
The students at St. Alexander Catholic Elementary School raised around 700 boxes of cereal that were donated to Pelham Cares.
After raising all of those cereal boxes, the students formed a domino track that stretched throughout the school.
The Niagara Catholic District School Board posted the video on Friday, which gained traction as it received over 2.8 million views.
The principal of the school, Mark Venzon, said he was impressed with the amount of cereal boxes collected.
“It really speaks to the willingness of the families in Fonthill to give back and be that example for their kids of how something cool can happen when people work together,” said Venzon.
