Stoney Creek woman wins $20M Lotto Max jackpot

A woman from Stoney Creek has won $20 million from the Lotto Max jackpot from the Dec. 20, 2024, draw according to an OLG announcement.

The crown agency’s report released Wednesday morning says Anna Pelka of Stoney Creek won the December jackpot with a Lotto Max Quick Pick ticket.

Pelka was on her way home after work in the healthcare industry, when she bought her ticket at a Petro-Canada gas station on Mud St. West in Stoney Creek.

She said she was “shaking like a leaf” when she found out that she won.

“I’ve always hoped for a win like this and somehow, it happened – it’s so unreal and absolutely life-changing,” reads the release.

“As a parent, it brings me peace of mind. It feels good to know that my children will be taken care of and can pursue the education of their dreams.”

OLG says that Lotto Max players in Ontario have won over $9 billion since 2009, including 113 jackpot wins and 937 Maxmillion prizes.
