Niagara police arrest Grimsby man on child pornography charges

Niagara police have arrested a man from Grimsby on Wednesday for child pornography as part of an investigation that began in Sept. 2024.

Officers say they began a joint investigation along with Peel Regional Police into the sexual exploitation of children over a social media platform.

Detectives from Niagara’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit and Technological Crime unit executed a search warrant at a Grimsby home and seized a device capable of storing electronic data.

Police arrested 37-year-old Ryan James Robinson and have charged him with possession of child pornography.

Robinson was held in custody after his arrest and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing Wednesday at a St. Catharines courthouse.
