Stoney Creek man arrested in Thailand

A Stoney Creek man, called the mastermind of a multi-million dollar stock scam, has been arrested in Thailand.

The FBI says 55-year old Sandy Winick was taken into custody this weekend. Winick is one of four canadians wanted in the scheme. With his arrest, three have now been detained and a fourth remains on the loose.

Investigators say tens of thousands of victims in Canada, the U.S. and 33 other countries were bilked out of more than $120 million.
