Police standoff in Milton

Halton Police have arrested a man after a standoff at a rural home in Milton.

An armoured vehicle was brought in by Hamilton Police overnight to help with the negotiation. Police got a 9-1-1 call around 8:30 last night to a house on Derry Road between Appleby Line and Bell School Line.

A woman believed to be the mother of the man inside left with an injury to her wrist. Investigators believe the man in his 30’s owns several guns. Police have not said why the man refused to leave the house before his arrest at around 4 this morning.
