St. Catharines man charged for drug trafficking in Niagara Falls

Niagara police have charged a St. Catharines man in a drug trafficking investigation in Niagara Falls.

Officers say they observed a man conducting drug sales on an electric scooter in the area of Main and Ferry streets Monday afternoon.

Detectives say they then observed the man visit a nearby shelter where he was arrested while attempting to sell more drugs.

As a result, police arrested 30-year-old Antonio Iuliani and charged him with possession of a crime worth over $5,000 and possession of opioid fentanyl, opioid hydromorphone and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Investigators say 35.5 grams of fentanyl, 14.1 grams of cocaine, 42 tablets of Dilaudid, $6,000 of Canadian currency and bear spray were seized from Iuliani.

The seized drugs are worth an estimated $5,500 in total.

Authorities say the accused was released with a future court date.
