Niagara police have charged a St. Catharines man with criminal harassment after he followed a woman to her home in early January and have reason to believe that he has stalked other women.

The woman noticed the man following her around 1 p.m. on Jan. 3 while she was walking to her home in the area of Oakwood Avenue and Parkwood Drive in St. Catharines.

Despite her efforts to evade him he continued to follow her. She was able to make it home safely, at which point the man walked away.

Police investigation confirmed that Daniel Clark, age 51, had intentionally followed the woman.

Clark was arrested and charged with criminal harassment and was remanded into custody with orders to appear in court at a future date.

Detectives believe that the suspect may have engaged in similar behavior with other women in the past.
