Spider-Man: Homecoming

After bursting onto the screen in Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland gets a movie all to himself in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Jon Watts (Cop Car) directs the first film in the second reboot of the franchise in the last five years. Joining Holland in the cast are Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Tyne Daly, Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr.

Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Downey Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened. Peter may be young, with the everyday pressures of any teenager, but his moment has arrived as he is challenged to become the hero he is meant to be.

“Peter goes from having the time of his life battling with the Avengers in Civil War to suddenly being back to riding the subway to school. He feels like he’s got nothing to do,” says Holland. “Tony Stark has assigned him to be the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, which means helping get cats out of trees, helping old ladies across the street and stopping petty thieves – nothing too hairy. But then Spider-Man stumbles across high-tech weapons, which leads him down a path of learning and mastering his new abilities and powers.”

Spider-Man: Homecoming is rated PG.
