Peel police provided an update on the investigation into the murder case of a Mississauga spa owner which has led to 3 arrests. The most shocking of the 3 people charged, her 25 year old son.

In pictures Teresa Hsin and her son Eric Lu appeared close. The 2 worked together in the family business where Eric is listed as CEO, but peel police say their investigation into Hsin’s murder quickly pointed in Eric’s direction.

“It became evident early on as to what we were looking at and we just continued to work through it.” said Inspector George Koekkoek.

But the arrest took some time. Lu was arrested at his home in Toronto on Remembrance Day and charged with first degree murder. Also charged this week 21 year old Mark Dookram, and 25 year old Justine Ordonio. Police won’t say if this was murder for hire, but were clear to point out that all 3 are facing first degree murder.

“Because we believe that the murder was deliberate and planned and pursuant to an agreement.”

Eric Lu had reported his mother missing on April 8th of this year. Her body was found in her black BMW parked on Robert Speck Parkway near Hurontario in Mississauga 2 days later.

She had been stabbed multiple times. It was the second time she had been attacked and stabbed. The first was in November of 2014. Her son Eric called 911 in that instance also.

“We’re still trying to determine whether or not the 2 are related or whether these parties are responsible for that as well.”

Teresa was the founder of a chain of relaxology spa’s in the area and a prominent figure in the local Taiwanese community, who is known both here and in Taiwan for philanthropic work.

“Now we got this tragedy. So our community all very concerned about this case.” said Nicholas Hong from the Taipei economic office

Eric Lu made his first appearance in a Brampton courthouse this morning where he signed a piece of paper that would assign power of attorney to cover his business affairs. All 3 of the accused are currently being held in Milton.
