Salvage operation underway to refloat ship in St. Lawrence river
A salvage operation is set to get underway Friday morning to refloat a cargo ship stuck in the St. Lawrence river.
The “Tim’s Dool” ran aground last Saturday, on it’s way from Port Weller in Niagara to Quebec City.
No one has been reported injured, and the ship is stable and not blocking other marine traffic.
The freighter is carrying Canadian wheat.
The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation says three tugboats should arrive this morning to start relocating the lake freighter.
