Ford told reporters outside Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital that he’s been in terrible pain for several weeks, but said he will continue to fight until the day he dies.

Ford, who was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer in September of 2014, had a cancerous tumour removed from his abdomen in may and last month said he was cancer-free. his brother, former Councillor Doug Ford, said the latest tumour appeared consistent with the previous one. choking back tears, Rob Ford says he and his family were blind sided by the diagnosis, and that he is determined to overcome this second round of cancer.

Ford says as of now, he’s scheduled for two rounds of chemotherapy, hoping those will be enough to remove the tumour. The treatments begin next week.
