The 7-year old boy whose hometown of St. George helped grant his wish to celebrate one more Christmas has died. Brittany Gogo spoke to Evan Leversage’s mother today about her son and the heartfelt outpouring of support from the community.
Evan Leversage is being remembered as a brave young boy with a quirky sense of humour. He captured the hearts of people in his hometown of St. George and also around the world. Evan died early Sunday morning in his mother’s arms, following a long battle with an inoperable brain tumour. “I am finding peace today because he did pass away with a smile on his face. Seeing his face and the smile that gave me the reassurance that he is ok and he knew he was going to be at peace.”
His mother Nicole says although this is a difficult time for her and the rest of Evan’s family, the support from the community is helping them get through it. “Its been overwhelming in a good way. It’s been amazing to see how many lives he has touched.”
