The Royal Botanical Gardens has unveiled a new logo as it marks its 80th year.

Gone is the familiar blue and green. The organization has chosen a black and white logo, inspired by the RBG’s original coat of arms.

Our new look includes a logo that symbolizes the bringing together of people and plants in our unique place, to foster awareness and care for the well-being of our planet,” said a statement from RBG.

It says the elements of the new logo represent everything that make up RBG and the RBG experience.

In addition to marking 80 years in 2021, RBG is also beginning implementation on its 25-year plan to address environmental pressures and protect green spaces for future generations.

RBG is the largest botanical garden in Canada and is a National Historic Site.
