Police still searching for suspect 2 months after downtown Hamilton robbery
Two months after a woman was robbed in Hamilton’s downtown, police are still looking for their suspect.
Officials say on Oct. 2, a 39-year-old woman was walking east on Main Street East around 10:30 p.m. when a man approached her from behind.
The suspect reportedly struck the woman on the head, knocking her to the ground, before stealing her purse.
The victim suffered injuries to her head and was treated by medical staff in Hamilton.
More than two hours after the incident, the suspect tried to use the woman’s bank cards at an establishment near King and Shelley Streets.
“The victim described the male suspect as white, 20s to 30s, short dark brown hair, tan vest and blue jeans,” police said in a release.
No video surveillance footage was located in the area.
Hamilton police are asking anyone with information about the suspect to come forward.
