Police searching for male suspect after jewellery store robbery in Oakville

Halton police are searching for a male suspect following a jewellery store robbery in Oakville that occurred on May 14.

At approximately 10 a.m., an employee of National Jewellers, located at 61 Lakeshore Rd. West, was opening the business for the day when they were approached outside by a male suspect with a handgun.

He told the employee to open the door before being directed to a secure area inside the business where he obtained a quantity of cash and jewellery.

The suspect then bound the employee’s hands before fleeing the store on foot.

Authorities say a black BB gun was recovered at the scene. They add that the employee did not suffer any physical injuries.

Investigators describe the suspect as a man wearing a black hoodie, black running shoes, beige pants, gloves and a baseball hat. They add that he was also carrying a backpack.

Anyone with information relevant to this investigation or who has security and dash cam footage from the area of Lakeshore Road West and Wilson Street between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. is asked to contact police at 905-825-4777, ext. 2216.
