Police search for Burlington convenience store robbery suspect

Halton police are seeking witnesses to help identify a man who attempted to rob two Burlington convenience stores late November and pointed a gun at store staff.
On Nov. 29 around 2:45 p.m. a masked suspect entered Maplewood Mart on 796 Brant St. in Burlington.
Once inside the store he pointed a black and silver firearm at the store employee.
The suspect demanded money but was unsuccessful in obtaining any. He then stole some energy drinks and fled.
Approximately 45 minutes later, the same suspect entered Ontario Variety Store at 1325 Ontario St. in Burlington with the same firearm, again pointing it at the store employee and asking for money.
The employee pushed the victim away and the suspect fled along Ontario Street.
No physical injures to any members of the public were sustained in either incident.
In both cases the male suspect was wearing a grey sweatshirt with the hood up, black pants and black running shoes.
Anyone who may have information is asked to contact police at 905-825-4747 ext. 2316.
