A 33-year old woman has been charged in connection to a violent incident in Hamilton’s Beasley neighbourhood.

Police say the woman faces a number of charges, including assault with a weapon, break and enter, and forcible confinement.

Yesterday, officers responded to reports that a man had been pistol whipped. The man was taken to hospital, but is going to be okay.

Police are still investigating and are looking for two men.

“All these crimes whether it’s daytime, nighttime, involving firearms, it is a very serious crime. We are taking it very seriously. We have investigators working around the clock assessing all the information and all the evidence coming in, in relation to that,” says Constable Steve Welton.

Officers have been in the neighbourhood all day speaking with residents.

They also searched a home on Cathcart Street, which neighbours say is a notorious drug house.

According to police, there is no threat to public safety, and streets in the area have reopened.
