Police looking for perp in ‘disgusting’ assault
Toronto police are investigating after a video was posted on the web, appearing to show a man urinating on the face of a homeless person who was sleeping outside the Eaton Centre.
The video was posted on the same site that had a video of of three teens attacking a woman in Toronto last year; those teens were later arrested.
Police believe this new video was taken between November 17th and December 1st of last year. And they say if the new video is real, it’s assault.
Det Kirby Reddin: “I think this is one of the worst acts of degradation that I’ve seen in my career, I think it’s disgusting… I think whoever did it, there’s a lot of rage in the community about this and I don’t think anyone would have a problem stepping forward and providing the information we need to make an arrest.”
Police have released security video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him. He’s described as being between 18-25 years old, with an average height and build and black hair tied back. He was last seen wearing a grey baseball cap with a dark brim, a gray jacket with black sleeves, baggy blue jeans with a blue pattern on the right back pocket and a red pattern on the left rear pocket of his jeans.
Police are also trying to identify the victim in the assault. They say they want to believe crimes like this are uncommon, but during this investigation they found out that it appears another person suffered similar abuse.
