Police identify Fort Erie body

Niagara police have now identified an elderly Fort Erie man whose body was discovered at his Bertie Street home Monday.

Homicide detectives are calling the death of 81 year old Blake Nicholls suspicious. An autopsy will be conducted Wednesday to determine the cause of death, however, one report said the man was found lying in a pool of blood with a hammer nearby.

Residents in the area of Nicholls’ home can expect to see police activity in the neighbourhood for several days.
