Police execute search warrants across Golden Horseshoe for ‘Project Odeon’

There was a heavy police presence in Smithville on Wednesday afternoon as multiple police services executed a series of warrants.
While details are currently limited, Hamilton police said in a social media post that the activity is related to an investigation dubbed “Project Odeon”, targeting the illegal production of fentanyl and other synthetic drugs.
The probe also involves provincial police and forces in York Region, Toronto and Guelph.
Officers carried out search warrants in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, Niagara Region, Guelph and Kitchener-Waterloo.
Police are expected to provide more details about the investigation during a press conference next week.
