No injuries in fire at automotive repair shop in St. Catharines

St. Catharines Fire says no injuries have been reported in a Saturday night blaze at an automotive repair business.

Crews say they received the call around 8:27 p.m. and six trucks attended the scene of 68 Grantham Ave. S.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a working blaze within the business and extinguished it within 10 minutes.

Crews had to overhaul parts of the structure to ensure the fire did not spread to the adjoining business.

Fire crews confirmed the blaze was contained to the business where the fire started.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined but crews say it is not suspicious in nature.

The initial estimate of damage has not been determined. Crews remained on scene throughout the night and the building has been turned back over to the owner.
