Police confirm remains as missing Brampton woman
Updated There’s been a break in a more than three year old missing persons case.
27 year old Poonam Litt went missing in February 2009. Her family said she left home for work, but she never arrived. At the time police said they suspected foul play.
Peel Regional Police have confirmed that the missing Brampton mother who disappeared more than three years ago is dead, and that human remains found in Caledon back in February were hers.
Her husband had been in India when she went missing and learned just days before her disappearance that she was pregnant with their second child.
There are reports police believe Litt was murdered. No arrests have been made yet.
Peel police and the OPP are holding a news conference this afternoon to release more details.
