Police arrest wanted man who barricaded himself in St. Catharines home

Niagara police arrested a wanted man in St. Catharines after he barricaded himself inside a home Friday.

It happened at a home in the area of Eastchester and Oakdale avenues.

Officers say he eventually surrendered after police surrounded the home and area.

He is charged with theft, mischief and uttering threats.

Earlier in the day, police had asked people to avoid the area so they could conduct their operation.
