Physical altercation in Brantford leaves victim in hospital, suspect in custody

Brantford police say a physical altercation has left one man in hospital with serious injuries and the suspect in custody.

On Sunday at 1:38 p.m., officers received a report of a physical altercation between two parties in the downtown core, in the area of Dalhousie and Clarence streets.

Police arrived on scene and with fire and paramedics, they provided immediate medical assistance to the victim.

Investigators say the victim was later transported to an out-of-area hospital for his serious injuries.

Detectives say they located the suspect, who they took into custody without incident as the investigation continues.

Police believe this is an isolated incident, no other suspects are wanted by police and there is no threat to public safety as a result of this incident.
