A 42-year-old man was hit by a vehicle in downtown Simcoe Thursday night on Colborne Street North, and suffered life-threatening injuries.
Ontario Provincial Police closed one block of the street, between Young and Robinson streets as they investigated.
“That pedestrian was transported to hospital after suffering serious injuries,” said OPP West region Sgt. Ed Sanchuk. “The motor vehicle operator stayed on scene and police are speaking to the driver.”
Officers posted on X just after 7:48 a.m. Friday that the man who was hit’s condition updated from serious injuries to life-threatening.

There is no word on charges and it is unknown when the section of downtown Simcoe will reopen.
