The bodies of two Air Canada pilots killed in a runway collision at New York’s LaGuardia Airport have returned to Canada.
Hundreds gathered in the rain outside Air Canada’s Montreal headquarters Thursday to honour captain Antoine Forest, who was flown to Montreal.
Jazz Aviation first officer Mackenzie Gunther’s casket arrived in Ottawa a little later.
The pilots’ union says the aviation community is grieving, and a full investigation will follow.
The crash injured dozens of passengers and remains under investigation by
U.S. authorities.
LaGuardia has now re-opened the runway where the collision took place.
