Part of Hwy. 6 closed, one person injured after five-vehicle collision in Morriston, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police say one person has been taken to hospital after a five-vehicle collision that closed part of Highway 6 in Morriston, Ont.

At approximately 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a multi-vehicle collision which involved two transport trucks and three other vehicles.

As a result of the collision, one person was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators say a load of dry concrete spilled onto the roadway as a result of the collision.

Highway 6 in Morriston has been closed in both directions from Badenoch Street to Leslie Road West.

Authorities are asking travellers to avoid the area for the next several hours as clean-up efforts continue.

OPP say that the Ministry of Environment has been notified.
