OPP investigate 3 suspicious overnight structure fires in Norfolk County

Fires broke out at structures at three locations overnight Tuesday in Norfolk County that investigators say are suspicious.

Ontario Provincial Police say the first fire took place at an abandoned house at around 11:30 p.m. in the area of Concession 6 Townsend.

They say a second fire took place just after midnight at a gas station on Norfolk County Highway 24.

Officers say a third fire happened at around 2:20 a.m. at an abandoned barn in the area of Brantford and Teeterville Roads.

Police say there were no injuries reported.

These fires now brings the total number of suspicious fires in Norfolk County up to 12 since the beginning of November.

Investigators say a man was seen running on Norfolk County Highway 24, who they describe as a white man, around 30-years-old, who has a thin build and was wearing a hoodie and a face covering.

Officers have closed Norfolk County Highway 24 between Forestry Farm and East Quarter Line roads while they investigate.

They have also closed Brantford Road between Windham Roads 6 and 7.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
