Ontario reported 3,338 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday as the death toll from the virus surpassed 5,000 people.
Another 8,859 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered on Sunday. That brings the total number of doses administered to 122,105 as of 8 p.m. Sunday.
Ontario is reporting 3,338 cases of #COVID19 and over 46,400 tests completed. Locally, there are 931 new cases in Toronto, 531 in Peel, 241 in York Region, 168 in Niagara and 165 in Waterloo.

Numbers reported Monday come as the province completed 46,403 tests, with 28,774 under investigation.
Another 29 COVID-19 deaths were reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 5,012.
There are 1,563 patients currently hospitalized with COVID-19, however the province says some hospitals did not submit data, as is often the case on weekends.
There are 387 people in intensive care including 268 on ventilators.
Another 2,756 cases of COVID-19 have been marked as resolved. Nearly 84 per cent of the COVID-19 cases in Ontario are resolved.
This comes as Ontario’s cabinet is meeting Monday to consider new measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Premier Doug Ford says an announcement will be made on Tuesday, the same day new COVID-19 projections are set to be released.
Ontario health officials are not recommending a curfew at this time, senior government officials confirm to CHCH News.
