Ontario is reporting 134 new cases of COVID-19 but the province says that number is an overestimation.

A “glitch” in a reporting system resulted in 11 public health units not reporting their numbers on Thursday.

That missing data has been included in Friday’s count.

Friday’s numbers also include three new deaths from the virus.

Based on the numbers provided by the province on Friday, there are 986 active cases.

There have been 41,179 cases of COVID-19 with over 90 per cent resolved.

Here’s how the numbers break down in our region:

Haldimand-Norfolk: 1 new case, 22 active cases

Brant: 3 new cases, 9 active cases

Niagara: 0 new cases, 32 active cases

Hamilton: 7 new cases **the city is updating its reporting system and is not reporting active cases. There were 50 active cases reported on Thursday.
