G-class driver’s licences in Ontario are considered officially expired starting today.

The province has re-instated the renewal requirements that were temporarily extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic from March 2020 until Feb. 28.

In addition, Ontario Photo Cards and Ontario health cars are also included as being officially expired.

G1 and G2 drivers have until Dec. 31, 2022, to complete testing to upgrade their licenses that expired after March 202. The regular expiry dates for G1 and G2 novice driver’s licences will resume Jan. 1, 2023.

Last week, Ontario Premier Doug Ford said his government was getting rid of the renewal fees for licence plate stickers. They were set to expire as well.

He said licence plate renewal sticker fee refunds will be automatically mailed out to those with individually-owned passenger vehicles who bought them from March 2020 and onward.
