Ombudsman report critical of corrections officers

We all assume that jails, are bad places to be.

But Ontario’s Ombudsman says they are far worse than you might imagine. Andre Marin released a scathing 137 page report Tuesday that says Ontario jail guards routinely use excessive force against provincial inmates and deliberately conspire to cover up any investigation that might expose that practice. And as Scot Urquhart tells us, there doesn’t seem to be an easy or inexpensive fix for the problem.
