Nissan Altima sought in gas and dash death
Peel police hope new information will lead to an arrest in a fatal hit and run at a Mississauga gas station last month.
They’ve narrowed down their search for the vehicle involved in the pump and run at a Petro-Canada on Southdown Road, May 19th. Police are looking for a 2002 to 2006 gold or beige Nissan Altima. They’re not sure if there’s damage to the wanted car.
The gas attendant, Hashem Atifeh Rad, 62, died in hospital after he was hit was dragged into the street, trying to stop a driver who filled up and left without paying.
Witnesses say the car’s plates were covered with paper.
Police are urging the driver — described as a black man between 20 and 30-years old — to turn himself in. He was last seen driving east on the QEW around five in the afternoon on May 19th.
Police say now that they know what type of vehicle they’re looking for, it’s only a matter of time before they track it down — along with the driver. They’re urging the driver to get a lawyer and turn himself in. Police are also asking anyone who owns or drives this type of car to contact them at 905-453-3311.
