Niagara police locate human remains near Highway 140 in Welland

Niagara police have launched an investigation after a dead body was located near Highway 140, in the City of Welland.

The department says officers attended the scene at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday after receiving an unidentified human remains call.

At this time, officials have not yet identified the remains but say they will “provide further information once identification is made.”

Police say say more information will be released once they can positively identify the deceased.
