Hamilton police will not lay charges after 2024 fatal crash

Hamilton Police say that no charges will be pursued following an investigation into a fatal crash between an HSR bus and a motorcycle in 2024.
Officers say it happened around 8:15 p.m. when a southbound motorcycle struck a northbound bus that was turning left into the Hamilton Street Railway bus terminal off of Upper James Street.
Investigators say a bus was going northbound on Upper James Street and was turning left into the terminal when a southbound motorcycle hit the side of the bus.
Detectives say the 18-year-old man who was driving the motorcycle died at the scene.
The 61-year-old bus driver of the bus was not injured and there were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash.
Police say after conducting an investigation, they determined that the HSR bus driver was not at fault, and as a result no charges will be pursued.
