Niagara police investigating suspicious fire in West Lincoln

Niagara police say they’re investigating a suspicious fire at a home in West Lincoln.

Officials say they responded to the blaze at 325 West Street around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday. The home was under renovation at the time, and was unoccupied.

Damages are estimated to exceed $700,000.

Investigators have determined the fire was intentionally set between 2:01 a.m. and 2:16 a.m. Surveillance cameras on the property picked up video of two suspicious people near the home moments before the fire broke out.

Police are asking residents in the area to review their home surveillance footage, and anyone who was driving in the area to review dash camera footage for anything that may assist the investigation.
