Three arrested, drugs and guns recovered following Niagara police investigation

Niagara police have laid charges against three people and recovered multiple guns and substances following a drug trafficking investigation.

Over the course of an investigation that began in October, authorities observed a number of people attending a residence on Niagara Street in St. Catharines. They say each person visited the residence for a short period of time before leaving.

On Dec. 10 and Dec. 11, detectives executed three search warrants on a vehicle, a residential address in St. Catharines and another residence in Thorold.

As a result of the investigation and search warrants, officers arrested three people and seized the following:

  • 688 grams of suspected cocaine (with an estimated street value of $68,800)
  • 91 Oxycodone pills (with an estimated street value of $455)
  • 29 Hydromorphone pills (with an estimated street value of $145)
  • 9mm Smith and Wesson
  • 9mm Glock
  • 9mm Sig Sauer
  • Associated ammunition
  • Bundled Canadian currency
  • Six Rolex watches
  • Jewelry and high-end purses

Wayne Turner, 60, of St. Catharines has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon

Kordelle Williams, 35, of Stoney Creek and 31-year-old Tayesha MacKinnon of Kingston have also been arrested and face the following charges:

  • Possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of proceeds obtained by crime
  • Possession of a weapon (three counts)
  • Possession of a firearm without a licence (three counts)
  • Possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm without knowingly holding a licence (three counts)
  • Possession of a loaded regulated firearm (three counts)
  • Careless storage of a firearm (three counts)
  • Possession of Schedule I substances for the purpose of trafficking: cocaine, hydromorphone, oxycodone
