Niagara police investigate Grimsby jewelry store robbery

Niagara police are looking for six people suspected of robbing a Harmony Jewellers Saturday afternoon in Grimsby.

Officers say the suspects entered the jewelry store at 37 Main St. West around 3:50 p.m. by smashing the front entrance with small sledgehammers.

Investigators say they then smashed several display cases and removed jewelry from the cases.

Police say the suspects then left the store and fled in a truck which was later found on Jan. 18 in the area of Nugent Drive and Nash Road North in Hamilton.

The suspect vehicle is a Ford F150 Lariat and has a red outline around near the front quarter panels.

The jewelry store was open during the robbery but there was no reported injuries.

Each suspect is described to have been wearing dark clothing, masks and gloves — some with latex surgical gloves.
