Police arrest man accused of sexually assaulting two teenagers in Welland

Niagara police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting two teenagers in Welland, Ont. Wednesday.

Officers say they have arrested 40-year-old Kyle Grondin of Port Colborne, Ont. after receiving a tip.

It is alleged that on Feb. 25, between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., two teenagers were sexually assaulted by a man in an area bordered by Thorold Road West, Clare Avenue, Fitch Street and South Pelham Road.

Detectives say their investigation revealed that the man had initially offered the teenagers a ride from a business near Thorold Road West and Rice Road.

Police have charged Grondin with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference, two counts of exposing genitals, two counts of inviting sexual touching and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

The accused has been held in custody ahead of his bail hearing.
