A 33 year veteran of the Niagara Falls fire department was laid to rest today. Hundreds of firefighters, police officers and paramedics lined the route as the hearse carrying Tim Hoday’s remains slowly worked its way through the streets of Niagara Falls.

Tim Hoday died after a lengthy battle with leukaemia, a cancer he contracted after years of exposure to hazardous materials on the job.

His friends and co-workers say fire fighting was one of his greatest passions and it’s clear he had an impact on everyone who knew him.
